The GTOA is an independent organisation representing the interests of those who organise tours and trips for groups as well as those who provide services for group travel.
The Association has over 200 supplier members that provide GTOs with information on everything from tours, hotels and destinations to museums, galleries, gardens and attractions.

WorldTravel Market 2015 is a unique opportunity where more than 51,000 travel professionals will meet, network, and conduct business under one roof at ExCel London. Excursions™ 2016 - In association with VisitEngland’s ‘2016 Year of the English Garden’ and to mark the 300th anniversary of ‘Capability’ Brown’s birth, some of England’s most beautiful gardens will be showcased in a feature area at the Excursions™ 2016 group travel trade show, which will be held at Alexandra Palace, North London on Saturday, 23rd January (10.30am-4pm).
The Royal Horticultural Society will also be involved with a beautiful winter garden filled with camellias, winter orchids and climbing plants, plus a stunning visual display of some of the finest planting designs and combinations from RHS Gardens. The RHS team will be on hand to share gardening advice and explain more about their ‘Greening Grey Britain’ campaign, which aims to transform hard grey areas into living, planted places that enrich lives. There will also be a series of practical demonstrations and talks packed with inspirational ideas for group experiences.
Group organisers, operators and itinerary planners can pre-register their attendance to this free entry exhibition online at www.excursions2016.com . With an expected attendance of 1300 quality buyers and some 300 exhibitors from the UK and Europe, Excursions™ 2016 will be the place to meet and pick up new inspiration for group day trips, short breaks and holidays.
GTOA AGM 2016
Following the success of the 2015 Annual General Meeting, the GTOA Board has decided to book the same venue, the Marriott Hotel Northampton, for the 2016 AGM over the weekend of 16/17 January. Full details of how to book for this must attend event will appear on the website shortly, meantime, be sure to keep the date free.
Congratulations to Shirley Ward who has been awarded the Order of the British Empire in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for voluntary service to the community in Upminster and Cranham, Essex. A Shirley Tours group visit to the Palace for the investiture?

Switzerland Travel Centre Workshop
Switzerland Travel Centre is arranging a Workshop on Thursday 8th October at their offices in London for GTOs to find out what Switzerland has to offer groups. The office address is Switzerland Travel Centre Ltd, 30 Bedford Street, London, WC2E 9ED. The start time is 11am and the Workshop will finish around 3 pm.

Group Travel Marketplaces Diary Dates
Travel trade specialist company Steve Reed Tourism Ltd has announced three Group Travel Marketplace events for 2015/16. The events, arranged in conjunction with Group Leisure magazine, will offer the tourism industry a new opportunity to gain group bookings.
The first takes place at the MacDonald Berystede Hotel in Ascot on Monday 9th November 2015 and includes a Thames river cruise from Windsor with French Brothers River Cruises.
At Ena Mill Retail in Atherton, Greater Manchester, on Monday 23rd November 2015, visitors will also be able to enjoy free entry to the Coronation Street set in Manchester.
And on Monday 21st March 2016, visitors will experience 'The Other Place', the Royal Shakespeare’s brand new site in Stratford upon Avon, as well as free admission to Compton Verney House and Art Gallery.
Each Marketplace event will attract a mixt of active GTOs and coach & tour operators. They will all include free admission for tour planners, free lunch and entry to iconic attractions.

These Awards recognise excellence and good practice amongst coach operators and their staff.
